Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster Join SWEENEY TODD On Broadway This February

What a Halloween treat! This morning it was announced that Aaron Tveit will star as Sweeney Todd and Sutton Foster will star as Mrs. Lovett in the Tony-nominated revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Hugh Wheeler, the revival is directed by Thomas Kail. 

Tveit was last seen on Broadway in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, in which he won his first Tony Award as Christian, and Sutton Foster was last seen on Broadway in the revival of The Music Man opposite Hugh Jackman. 

The pair will join the company on Friday, February 9, 2024 for a 12 week run, ending on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford will play their final performance as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett on Sunday, January 14, 2024. 

The current cast of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street includes Groban as Sweeney Todd and  Ashford as Mrs. Lovett, Gaten Matarazzo as Tobias, Daniel Yearwood as Anthony, Tony Award winner  Ruthie Ann Miles as Beggar Woman, Maria Bilbao as Johanna, Jamie Jackson as Judge Turpin, John Rapson as Beadle Bamford, Nicholas Christopher as Pirelli / Standby for Sweeney Todd, and Jeanna de Waal as Standby for Mrs. Lovett and Beggar Woman. 

The cast also includes Joanna Carpenter, Galyana Castillo, Jonathan Christopher, Dwayne Cooper, Kyrie Courter, Taeler Cyrus, Timothy Hughes, Paul-Jordan Jansen, Alicia Kaori, Michael Kuhn, Raymond J. Lee, Megan Ort, Patricia Phillips, Mia Pinero, Samantha Pollino, Keven Quillon, Lexi Rabadi, Nathan Salstone, Kristie Dale Sanders, Claire Saunders, Stephen Tewksbury, Daniel Torres, Felix Torrez-Ponce, DeLaney Westfall, Tug Watson and Hennessy Winkler.
