I think tickets are about to be Moving Too Fast and what a way to kick off Tony Sunday! This morning it was announced that Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren will return to the stage to star in the first ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years in Spring of 2025. This brand-new production will be directed by Tony-nominee Whitney White.

The musical chronicles the five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Told from two perspectives: Jamie's story unfolds chronologically from the beginning to the end of their relationship, while Cathy's story is told in reverse; their timelines intersect at their wedding in the middle.

Jonas was last seen acting on Broadway in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying back in 2012, but starred in his Jonas Brothers residency last season at the Marquis, and also produced Chicken & Biscuits in 2021. Warren was last seen on the Main Stem in Tina, a role in which she won a Tony Award for. She was set to return last season in Room, but that production was postponed indefinitely.

Written by Brown 25 years ago, The Last Five Years premiered at Chicago’s Northlight Theatre in 2001 and then moved Off-Broadway in 2002 starring Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott. Loved by many due to its soaring score, New York audiences last saw a production on the NY stage in 2013 Off-Broadway at Second Stage with Betsy Wolfe and Adam Cantor.

Richard LaGravenese directed the 2014 film adaptation starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.

Further creative team members will be announced at a later date.

A fan presale will begin on Monday, July 22 at 10am EST. To sign up, visit www.TheLastFiveYearsBroadway.com
