Today, producers announced that Cats: The Jellicle Ball will end its Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Previews began on March 18, 2026 before an opening night on April 7. The show went on to win three Tony Awards last month including Best Direction of a Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Costume Design of a musical. The production will be filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

Real Estate agent Chloe Tucker Caine (who I profiled last year) will make her Broadway debut in Six as Anne Boleyn beginning August 17 2026. Today, it was announced that Dolly: A True Original Musical, a remarkable journey through the life of this trailblazing woman, will come to Broadway this winter with tickets going on pre-sale starting tomorrow, July 8 at 10am ET at dollymusical.com Previews are set to begin Monday, December 7 at the St. James Theatre on West 44th Street before an official opening night which will take place on Dolly’s 81st Birthday on Tuesday, January 19, 2027. Last week, producer David Binder announced that François Arnaud, David Corenswet, and Yvonne Strahovski will star in a new production of Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro beginning February 2027 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced. This revival is a sharply funny drama that unfolds as a mystery about inheritance: what parents leave behind and what children discover years later. The play was last seen on Broadway in 2006 in a starry revival which featured Paul Rudd, Julia Roberts, and Bradley Cooper.
Fresh off their Tony win for Ragtime, Lincoln Center Theater under the leadership of Artistic Director Lear DeBessonet has announced her second season programming LCT and boy is it filled to the brim with exciting productions that has something for everyone. On Broadway, LCT has announced two productions at Vivian Beaumont Theater including the first-ever revival of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men, starring Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth, and directed by Tony winner Michael Arden. In the spring, deBessonet will direct the first Broadway revival of The Sound of Music in nearly 30 years, starring Tony nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. The new season at the Mitzi E. Newhouse commences this summer with the previously announced The Whoopi Monologues, directed by Whitney White and starring Dominique Fishback, Kecia Lewis, Danielle Pinnock, Kerry Washington, and Kara Young. The season continues this fall with August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who won his first-ever Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in the 1996 Broadway premiere of the same play. Following is the American premiere of Playing Burton – a play by Mark Jenkins about the legendary Welsh-born actor Richard Burton, starring Welsh-born actor Matthew Rhys. The final play of the season at the Newhouse is world premiere of Born in the Dirt, reuniting playwright Kimberly Belflower and Tony winning director Danya Taymor in their first collaboration since the sensation-causing, and Tony Award nominated, John Proctor is the Villain on Broadway.
Earlier today it was announced that Jocelyn Bioh’s hit play School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, which will be directed by Tony nominee Whitney White, has found its company. The play, which premiered Off-Broadway at MCC in 2017 will land on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre beginning Tuesday, September 8, and open Monday, September 28. Broadway is about to get pretty spooky! Today it was announced that Paranormal Activity has found its cast for Broadway and the Boston production. Written by Levi Holloway (Grey House) and directed by Felix Barrett (Sleep No More), Paranormal Activity will begin performances Friday, August 14, 2026 and officially open Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) for a strictly limited run.Paranormal Activity in Boston and on Broadway will star Cher Álvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight as James, Shannon Cochran as Carolanne and Andrea Syglowski as Etheline Cotgrave with understudies Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks and Michael Holding. Álvarez, Knight, Cochran, Buinis, Hendricks and Holding are all making their Broadway debuts and reprising their roles from previous productions across North America. Hello! Can you believe those doorbells have been ringing on Broadway for almost 15 years now? To celebrate this milestone, The Book of Mormon has announced a special “magical Mormon mystery week” of performances from June 9-14, 2026 at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre. The news was announced earlier tonight on the Colbert by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez. Performances from Tuesday, June 9 through Sunday, June 14 will feature appearances in every show by original cast members Tony Award nominees Josh Gad (Elder Cunningham) and Andrew Rannells (Elder Price), Tony Award winner Nikki M. James (Nabulungi), and Tony Award nominee Rory O’Malley (Elder McKinley). The original cast members will perform select scenes and songs at each performance alongside the current cast, with no show exactly the same. The “Mystery Week” performances, the first of its kind on Broadway, will also feature Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez and Broadway’s original Mormon and Ugandan ensembles at certain performances, plus other surprise guests from the big Mormon family throughout the week.

The Tony Awards eligibility cut-off date for the 2025-2026 season is Sunday, April 26, 2026 for all Broadway productions, and nominations will be announced the morning of Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

It was announced today that Keri René Fuller, who is currently the Elphaba standby, will assume the role full time, alongside Emma Flynn as Glinda in Wicked beginning March 3, 2026 at the Gershwin Theatre here on Broadway. Wicked will mark Flynn’s Broadway debut. She recently led the West End production of Clueless as Cher. Lencia Kebede and Allie Trimm will play their final performances on Sunday, March 1. Currently the 4th longest-running show in Broadway history, Wicked is currently in its 23rd year on Broadway.

Beginning February 16, 2026, the new company will include Dylan Mulvaney as Anne Boleyn and Grammy winner Abigail Barlow as Katherine Howard. Today it was announced that Hell’s Kitchen will end its run on Broadway after nearly two years on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Original company member and Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will return to the role of Davis beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026 through the remainder of the run. The musical made its world premiere on October 24, 2023 down at The Public Theater before moving uptown to the Shubert Theatre where it celebrated its opening night on April 20, 2024. The show went on to be nominated for 13 Tony nominations, and took home two for Maleah Joi Moon and Kecia Lewis.

Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts’ play Bug will premier on Broadway this December. The production, directed by David Cromer begins performances on Dec. 17, with opening night set for Jan. 8, at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
The Broadway production of The Queen of Versailles starring Kristin Chenoweth has found its company. She will be joined by Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, Melody Butiu, Stephen DeRose, Greg Hildreth, Tatum Grace Hopkins, Isabel Keating, and Theatrely31 alum Nina White.
Ainsley Melham will return to Broadway’s Aladdin in the title role from Aug. 26 to Nov. 30. Melham originated the role in the Australian production in 2016 and joined the Broadway company for several months in 2019, marking his Broadway debut. He will take over from Adi Roy, who will play his final performance on Aug. 24.
