Ellen’s Stardust Diner will offer a brand-new Rocky Horror Show: Live! at Ellen’s Stardust on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 as one of its special events this year in celebration of the iconic musical’s 50th anniversary. The diner will transform into a full-scale, immersive performance of The Rocky Horror Show. 

Rounding out the all-star cast of the Off-Broadway revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee are Tony Award nominee Lilli Cooper as Rona Lisa Peretti and Jason Kravitz as Vice Principal Douglas Panch.

An immersive production of Jacob Wasson’s play Smuta is coming to a new Brooklyn audiophile nightclub Refuge, produced by New York Nightlife icon Ladyfag. The production opens on Oct. 9 for a limited run.

Classic Stage Company’s world premiere production of Marcel on the Train, written by Tony Award nominee Ethan Slater and Theatrely31’s Marshall Pailet, will star Slater in the titular role of Marcel Marceau. Joining Slater are Julie Benko, Maddie Corman, Max Gordon Moore, Aaron Serotsky, and Alex Wyse. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. 

Schmigadoon! is coming to Broadway! The production, based on the Apple Original series from Universal Television of the same name, will begin previews at the Nederlander Theatre on April 4, 2026 with an opening night set for April 20 and will run through Sept. 6. “

Pulitzer Prize Finalist Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries will return to the New York stage in a new production starring Succession’s Nicholas Braun and two-time Tony Award winner Kara Young. The production will be directed by Neil Pepe. 

Ice Berg Productions and Sierra Miliziano are set to bring Adam Wachter’s Tarrytown to New York for a limited engagement, with performances beginning October 16, 2025, at The Cell Theater running through October 25. This contemporary chamber musical reimagines Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as a psychological queer love triangle set in modern-day upstate New York. Ichabod Crane, a music teacher rebuilding his life, finds himself entangled with Katrina and Brom Van Brunt in a ninety-minute story of longing, desire, and identity. With a witty and deeply melodic score, Wachter crafts a poignant exploration of small-town restlessness and the haunting pull of connection. The three-person company includes Andrew Cekala as Ichabod, Maya Sistruck as Katrina and Jake Goz as Brom.

There’s a new Zidler in town. Today producers announced that drag superstar Bob The Drag Queen will make his Broadway debut as Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026 for an eight-week limited engagement through Sunday, March 22 at the Al Hirsfeld Theatre. Wayne Brady performs the role through Sunday, November 9th with Robert Petkoff, who currently plays Zidler on tour, joining the cast in the role from Tuesday, November 11th to Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Director Miles Sternfeld, as part of his newly-founded Sternfeld Studio, will invite audiences to an immersive site-specific Into the Woods staged under the stars. 

Jesse Eisenberg’s The Ziegeld Files, directed by Pulitzer Prize finalist Shayok Misha Chowdhury, is coming to Studio Seaview with seven on-book performances October through December. Eisenberg’s new solo play, read by the actor, is presented between performances of Jordan Tannahill’s Prince Faggot.

The Olivier Award-winning play Giant will transfer to Broadway after sold-out runs on the West End and at the Royal Court Theatre. Performances begin March 11, and the production will run for a strictly limited 16-week engagement. 

For those of us who were lucky enough to experience Walk on Through: Confessions of a Museum Novice, we all know how special that performance was. Now the world will have the ability to revel in Gavin Creel’s acclaimed and final theatrical production here in New York. The Original Cast Recording will be released on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 on all major digital streaming platforms. Recorded live at MCC Theater’s Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater just days before the final performance of the sold-out, extended Off-Broadway run, the album captures the vibrant spirit, intimate storytelling, and infectious music of Creel’s theatrical songwriting debut. 

Dreamgirls is coming back to Broadway in Fall 2026 in the first-ever newly directed and choreographed Broadway revival. Camille A. Brown will direct and choreograph the new production, featuring book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger.

Yes you read that headline correctly. It was announced today that a new musical comedy about Billy McFarland and the infamous Fyre Festival is currently in development featuring a book by Bryan Buckley, music by Paul Epworth, and scenic design by David Korins. Buckley is also set to direct. The new musical has an all-star producing team behind it including Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, Rita Ora, Matthew Weaver, and Hungry Man Productions. 

Nick Blaemire's apocalyptic chamber musical Soon will premiere Off-Broadway this October at the East Village Basement, an intimate venue located at 321 East 9th Street in Manhattan. It will be the first musical produced in the downtown space, in a two-week limited run from October 29th to November 9th.With Will Blum set to direct, the cast includes Ava Delaney in her New York debut as Charlie, Nicholas Podany (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Jonah, Mike Millan (Huzzah!, Buyer and Cellar) as Steven and Mylinda Hull (Gypsy, The Connector) as Adrienne. Music Direction and Orchestrations are by Wiley DeWeese (Girl from the North Country, Lightning Thief). 

You only have two more weeks to hear the music play down at the August Wilson. Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club will end its Broadway run on Sunday, September 21. At the time of closing, the musical revival will have played 18 preview performances and 592 regular performances. Billy Porter will also withdraw from the production due to a serious case of sepsis, his doctors noting that he will make a full recovery.

Broadway veterans Laura Bell Bundy and Kara Lindsay will star as the titular Romy White and Michele Weinberg in Romy & Michele: The Musical.

Thomas Doherty will make his New York stage debut in the current Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors as Seymour beginning Sept. 5. He will star opposite Madeline Brewer as Audrey. 

The company will include Tony Award winner Danny Burstein, Christopher Lowell, Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon, and June Squibb. Squibb will play the title role. 

Sherie Rene Scott will join the Broadway company at the Standby for Jackie Siegel in The Queen of Versailles.

Magician Rob Lake is making his way to Broadway for the 2025 holiday season with Rob Lake Magic With Special Guests The Muppets. Performances will begin at the Broadhurst Theatre on West 44th Street on Oct. 28, with opening on Nov. 6, and play through Jan. 18.On

The official trailer for the film adaptation of The Kiss of the Spider Woman has been released. 

The Broadway production of The Queen of Versailles starring Kristin Chenoweth has found its company. She will be joined by Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham, Melody Butiu, Stephen DeRose, Greg Hildreth, Tatum Grace Hopkins, Isabel Keating, and Theatrely31 alum Nina White.

Kate Rockwell will step into the role of Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom from Oct. 10 to Nov. 10. Kerry Butler, who currently plays the role, will be absent from Westerburg while she stars in Bat Boy at New York City Center. Butler will return to the production on Nov. 12.

Abby Wambaugh will perform her debut solo comedy The First 3 Minutes of 17 Shows for a limited four-week run at Dixon Place this fall. Wambaugh will perform beginning Oct. 1, following an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024 and 2025. 

Drew Droege’s satirical play Messy White Gays is making its way Off-Broadway this fall. Droege himself will star alongside Tony Award nominee James Cusati-Moyer, Aaron Jackson, Zane Phillips, and Pete Zias. It will debut on Oct. 6, with opening night set for Nov. 2, at The Duke on 42nd Street. 

Tony Award nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers will star as Olive Ostrovsky in the first New York revival of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, alongside Autumn Best as Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre and Matt Manuel as Mitch Mahoney.
