It was announced today that SNL alum Chloe Troast will write and star in the new theatrical experience Pepper Slit: Live In Her Living Room directed by comedian Sam Blumenfeld. This four week engagement will begin performances at the East Village Basement on Tuesday, July 21 with an opening night set for Thursday, July 30. The cast for PEPPER SLIT will include Sam Blumenfeld, Tej Khanna, Gus Laughlin, Jamie Linn Watson, and music director Charlie O’Connor. Surprise special guests will be announced shortly. Pepper Slit’s theatrical experience blends music, nostalgia, and delusion into an unforgettable comedy spectacle. Each night, only 35 guests are invited to the stage and screen legend, Pepper Slit’s personal home to experience a night of party and performance that New Yorkers thought was outlawed back in ‘71.

Last week, producer David Binder announced that François Arnaud, David Corenswet, and Yvonne Strahovski will star in a new production of Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro beginning February 2027 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced. This revival is a sharply funny drama that unfolds as a mystery about inheritance: what parents leave behind and what children discover years later. The play was last seen on Broadway in 2006 in a starry revival which featured Paul Rudd, Julia Roberts, and Bradley Cooper.

Fresh off their Tony win for Ragtime, Lincoln Center Theater under the leadership of Artistic Director Lear DeBessonet has announced her second season programming LCT and boy is it filled to the brim with exciting productions that has something for everyone. On Broadway, LCT has announced two productions at Vivian Beaumont Theater including the first-ever revival of Aaron Sorkin’s A Few Good Men, starring Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth, and directed by Tony winner Michael Arden. In the spring, deBessonet will direct the first Broadway revival of The Sound of Music in nearly 30 years, starring Tony nominee Jasmine Amy Rogers and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli. The new season at the Mitzi E. Newhouse commences this summer with the previously announced The Whoopi Monologues, directed by Whitney White and starring Dominique Fishback, Kecia Lewis, Danielle Pinnock, Kerry Washington, and Kara Young. The season continues this fall with August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who won his first-ever Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in the 1996 Broadway premiere of the same play. Following is the American premiere of Playing Burton – a play by Mark Jenkins about the legendary Welsh-born actor Richard Burton, starring Welsh-born actor Matthew Rhys. The final play of the season at the Newhouse is world premiere of Born in the Dirt, reuniting playwright Kimberly Belflower and Tony winning director Danya Taymor in their first collaboration since the sensation-causing, and Tony Award nominated, John Proctor is the Villain on Broadway. 

Earlier today it was announced that Jocelyn Bioh’s hit play School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, which will be directed by Tony nominee Whitney White, has found its company. The play, which premiered Off-Broadway at MCC in 2017 will land on Broadway at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre beginning Tuesday, September 8, and open Monday, September 28. The production will feature Lucia Aremu, Tony nominee Denée Benton, Tony winner Patina Miller, Theatrely31 alum Erin Morton, Nia Otchere-Sarfo, Jordan Rice, Jasmine Amy Rogers, and Heather Alicia Simms. 

This Pride Month, The House of Xtravaganza is throwing the Love Is Imagination Pride Mini Ball in partnership with TSQ LIVE giving us a first look at Xtravaganza, a new original musical inspired by the legendary House and Ballroom pioneers. The event takes place Wednesday, June 24, from 5-6pm in Times Square at 46th Street and Broadway. The event marks a major milestone for the production. Tickets officially go on sale beginning June 24, 2026, for the world premiere engagement of Xtravaganza at Baltimore Center Stage, where the musical will open in May 2027. 

Pass the Pepperoni! Today, it was announced that Mystic Pizza: A New Musical will launch a national tour this September starting at the Clemens Center in Elmira, New York. Based on the beloved movie classic that launched Julia Roberts’ career, this sparkling musical depicts best friends Kat, Daisy, and Jojo’s search for love and self-identity as they face life’s many unexpected twists and turns. Packed with chart-topping ‘80s and ‘90s hits, this new musical celebrates Mystic, Connecticut’s iconic pizza joint like never before. Mystic Pizza is based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Motion Picture with Story and Characters by Amy Holden Jones. The musical is written by Sandy Rustin (The Cottage) with Arrangements and Orchestrations by Carmel Dean (The Notebook). 

2:22 — A Ghost Story has set its New York Premiere this fall at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The play begins previews on Oct. 20, with official opening on Nov. 5, and will play a strictly limited engagement through Jan. 17. 

Todrick Hall’s original musical Midnight will make its New York Premiere at the Daryl Roth Theatre this fall. The production begins performances on Sept. 12, with official opening on Sept. 27. It is set to run for a strictly limited engagement through Nov. 1. 

Murder at the Gates, a killer new musical with book and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Steven Sater and music by James Bourne, is releasing a concept album on July 1. The first song, “Fuckin’ Scream,” featuring vocals by Gaten Matarazzo, is available for streaming now. 

Paddington The Musical will head to Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre next spring, beginning Tuesday, March 30, 2027 ahead of a Sunday, April 18 official opening. The smash hit musical, which took home seven Olivier Awards this past April, has become the most awarded new musical in the history of London’s West End. Based on the beloved “A Bear Called Paddington” written by Michael Bond and the award-winning film ‘PADDINGTON,’ by special arrangement with STUDIOCANAL, Paddington The Musical features music and lyrics by Olivier Award winner Tom Fletcher, a book by Olivier Award winner Jessica Swale and direction by Olivier Award winner Luke Sheppard. 

Billy is back! Today, it was announced that Billy Crystal’s new one-man show, 860, directed by Scott Ellis, will play a limited 14-week engagement at Broadway’s Imperial Theatre. Beginning Thursday, October 1, 2026, an official opening night is set for Wednesday, October 21, 2026. In the aftermath of the Palisades fires which took his home, Billy reflects on his family and his career – the memories and moments that mattered the most, and how the power of laughter can overcome the most difficult of times. 860 is a hilarious and intimate story about family, friendship, love, luck, and loss.

Just before 5pm on the Seaview grid, 5 words were posted and group chats around the country started blowing up. “One day all will know.”Everyone knew what it meant and now we have confirmation. It was announced that Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik’s beloved Spring Awakening will return to New York this fall Off-Broadway at Studio Seaview directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor. The Tony and Olivier-winning musical will be choreographed by Celia Rowlson-Hall, in her theatrical debut, with music supervision by Or Matias.

Following its sold-out, twice-extended run at St. Luke’s Theatre, New York Times critic’s pick production of Eliya Smith’s Dad Don’t Read This will transfer to Greenwich House Theater for a strictly limited engagement, June 17 – July 11, 2026. Directed by Chloe Claudel, this co-production is produced by Try For Baby Productions and The Goat Exchange. The show features performances by Drama Desk winner Amalia Yoo (John Proctor is the Villain), Renée-Nicole Powell (Grief Camp), Sophie Rossman, and Kayta Thomas. Broadway is about to get pretty spooky! Today it was announced that Paranormal Activity has found its cast for Broadway and the Boston production. Written by Levi Holloway (Grey House) and directed by Felix Barrett (Sleep No More), Paranormal Activity will begin performances Friday, August 14, 2026 and officially open Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) for a strictly limited run.Paranormal Activity in Boston and on Broadway will star Cher Álvarez as Lou, Travis A. Knight as James, Shannon Cochran as Carolanne and Andrea Syglowski as Etheline Cotgrave with understudies Caron Buinis, Caroline Hendricks and Michael Holding. Álvarez, Knight, Cochran, Buinis, Hendricks and Holding are all making their Broadway debuts and reprising their roles from previous productions across North America. Syglowski will make her Paranormal Activity debut in the Boston and Broadway productions and is currently appearing in the Broadway production of Dog Day Afternoon. 

Get those paintbrushes ready. Starting today through June 14, Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts is giving folks an inside look at his painting process with a live residency entitled Process of Saying Yes (in partnership with Long Gallery Harlem) at the East Village Basement downtown. He will showcase his signature freestyle dance painting technique with elements of improvisation, live looping, spoken word, and storytelling for 90 minutes of unadulterated freedom and authenticity. Each evening will culminate in the sale of the created work.

Theatrely and Origin Story Productions will host the inaugural Broadway Breakout Brunch this spring honoring Anania (The Rocky Horror Show), Isa Briones (Just in Time), Aidan Close & Emmet Smith (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), McKenzie Kurtz (Schmigadoon!), Whitney Leavitt (Chicago), Jake Shane (All Out: Comedy About Ambition) and Runyonland Productions (Thomas Laub and Alyah Chanelle Scott) for their contributions to the Broadway landscape this season and beyond. 

Seems like some more felines are headed to Broadway, kinda. This morning, it was announced that production company Seaview will lead a revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, directed by Tony Award Winner Sam Gold. This strictly limited engagement in Spring of 2027 will reunite Gold with Seaview, following their collaborations on An Enemy of the People and Romeo + Juliet. Additional casting and creative team information will be announced at a later date. 

Today, the Boston Theater Critics Association have announced the nominees and five awards for visiting productions in the New England Area. The awards will take place Monday, June 1, 2026 at 7pm at the Huntington Theatre. In addition to the nominees, the 2026 Elliot Norton Price for Sustain Excellence goes to producer Bill Hanney for his work with the North Shore Music Theatre and Theatre By The Sea. Special Citations will be awarded to Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in honor of its 30th Anniversary Season, Blue Man Group for its 30-year residency in Boston, and to arts administrators Temple Gill and Jim Torres for their decades of service to the arts community. 

In an era where regional theatre seasons are looking bleaker and bleaker, the Huntington in Boston has come out strong with a bold 2026/2027 season including new world premieres putting Boston on the map. Next April will see the world premiere of Unorthodox based on the best-selling memoir written by Deborah Feldman. Three Broadway heavy hitters are helming the new musical including composer Benj Pasek (EGOT winner, Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, Only Murders in the Building); composer Shaina Taub (two-time Tony winner for Suffs); and playwright Joshua Harmon (Tony nominated for Prayer for the French Republic). Jordan Fein, who’s daring Into The Woods at London’s Bridge Theatre turned into one of my favorite performances this year, is set to direct. 

It was announced today that Billy Crystal will return to Broadway this fall in a new one-man show, 860, written and performed by Crystal, and directed by Scott Ellis. The new production will play a 12-week engagement at a Shubert Theater to be announced beginning in October. 

Looks like we get a bit more of scared pottah here in New York City. Today it was announced that Tom Felton who made his Broadway debut with the company in November 2025 to once again play the role of Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis “Draco Malfoy,” will continue his run through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Tickets are on sale starting at $80 at www.HarryPotterBroadway.com.Since Tom Felton returned to the iconic character of “Draco Malfoy,” which he originated in all eight Harry Potter blockbuster films, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has consistently held the #1 spot on the Broadway grosses. It’s the highest grossing production in the history of the Lyric Theatre, setting the box office record at $3.7M for the nine-performance week ending Dec. 28, 2025.

Tonight, from the stage of the Hollywood Bowl (iconic), Jason Robert Brown, Ben Platt, and Rachel Zegler announced that Atlantic Records will release a live recording of The Last Five Years (25th Anniversary Live at the London Palladium). The new album arrives on Monday, April 20th, pre-orders and pre-saves are available now HERE. Captured live during the limited, sold-out concert residency at the historic London Palladium from March 24-29, 2026, the recording documents the electric chemistry of Platt and Zegler in this special 25th Anniversary staging. Lin-Manuel Miranda will direct the musical film adaptation of Dave Malloy’s Octet as his next feature film.

Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody will have a full, staged run off-Broadway after eight sold-out concert presentations earlier this year.
