After a six year hiatus, Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts is returning to Joe’s Pub with the 11th instalment of his spoken word/storytelling series Daniel J. Watts’ The Jam: SHED on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. 

Not to stress anyone out, but we are 132 days away from the 79th Annual Tony Awards. Today it was announced that the 2026 Tonys will be back at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7, 2026 on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ at 8:00pm ET. The Tony Awards eligibility cut-off date for the 2025-2026 season is Sunday, April 26, 2026 for all Broadway productions, and nominations will be announced the morning of Tuesday, May 5, 2026. 

The smash-hit play Oh, Mary!, written by Cole Escole, will play select cities across the U.S. beginning fall 2026. 

The Broadway revival of Chess starring Nicholas Christopher, Aaron Tveit, and Lea Michele will record a Broadway cast album on Jan. 26. The album’s release date will be announced shortly. 

Kids’ Night on Broadway will return on Tuesday Feb. 24, allowing anyone 18 and under to attend a participating Broadway show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

Broadway legend and two-time Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan will star as Bobby Darin in the smash hit Just in Time beginning April 21. He takes over the role from Jonathan Groff, whose final performance is Sunday, March 29.

Summer’s just around the corner, and the Cape Playhouse has announced its 2026 season. The season will include Nat Zegree’s Mozart to Pop Chart, Into the Woods, Hairspray, Mean Girls, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The New York Neo-Futurists have promoted ensemble members Amelia Bethel and Julia Melfi to Co-Artistic Directors and hired Sean Tecson as General Manager. Founding ensemble member and outgoing Artistic Director Rob Neill will remain with the ensemble and serve in a consulting role during the transition. 

This fall in New York City, the weather might be getting colder, but not at Magic Mike Live. Today, it was announced that the global sensation that has played across the world from London, to Vegas, and beyond, will finally make its way to midtown Manhattan. Created and directed by Channing Tatum, performances for Magic Mike Live will begin October 8, 2026 with an official opening night set for October 22 in a newly renovated, multifunction and custom built venue just steps from Times Square. 

Ingram will begin performances on Feb. 3, 2026 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Sarita Choudhury, Michael Cyril Creighton, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Jennifer Tilly will star in The Adding Machine by Elmer L. Rice, with revisions by Thomas Bradshaw, this spring at The Theater at St. Clement’s as part of The New Group’s 2026 season.

Tony Award winners Beth Leavel, Matt Doyle, and Marissa Jaret Winokur will take the stage alongside Kevin Chamberlin, Adam Heller, and Tomás Matos in the world premier production of When Playwrights Kill at Boston’s Huntington Theatre this April. The play will run for a strictly limited engagement from April 3 to 18, 2026. 

Today it was announced that Hell’s Kitchen will end its run on Broadway after nearly two years on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Original company member and Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will return to the role of Davis beginning Tuesday, January 27, 2026 through the remainder of the run. The musical made its world premiere on October 24, 2023 down at The Public Theater before moving uptown to the Shubert Theatre where it celebrated its opening night on April 20, 2024. The show went on to be nominated for 13 Tony nominations, and took home two for Maleah Joi Moon and Kecia Lewis. 

Oh what a celebration we’ll have today! It was announced that Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande will team up again following Wicked for a new stage production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George. Performances will begin at the Barbican Centre in London during Summer 2027. 

It was announced today that David Cromer will mount Lindsey Ferrentino’s visceral play The Fear of 13, based on the documentary directed by David Sington. This will mark two-time Oscar winner Adrien Brody’s Broadway debut, as well as Tessa Thompson’s debut. The Fear of 13 tells the extraordinary true story of Nick Yarris, who spends more than two decades on death row for a murder he insists he did not commit. Through a series of prison visits with a volunteer named Jackie, Nick traces a life shaped by impulse and consequence. As Nick and Jackie’s conversations deepen, the line between witness and participant blurs, forcing both to confront what justice demands, what belief requires, and the perilous distance between true freedom and the illusion of self-determination. By turns devastating, darkly funny, and life-affirming, The Fear of 13 is a powerful exploration of truth and trust, conscience and connection.

It was announced today that Keri René Fuller, who is currently the Elphaba standby, will assume the role full time, alongside Emma Flynn as Glinda in Wicked beginning March 3, 2026 at the Gershwin Theatre here on Broadway. Wicked will mark Flynn’s Broadway debut. She recently led the West End production of Clueless as Cher. Lencia Kebede and Allie Trimm will play their final performances on Sunday, March 1. Currently the 4th longest-running show in Broadway history, Wicked is currently in its 23rd year on Broadway. 

Crack out those scrunchies, we just got word that Westerberg High will be getting a new student next month. This morning, it was announced that Peyton List will join Heathers as queen bee Heather Chandler beginning Monday, January 26, 2026 at New World Stages. “I’m drawn to characters who are powerful, complicated, and a little dangerous,” said List. “Heather Chandler is an icon for a reason—she’s larger than life, hilarious, terrifying, and deeply symbolic. Stepping into this role is thrilling, and I can’t wait to enter my bad girl era. It’ll be so very.”Directed by Andy Fickman, this new production was recently extended through May 24, 2026. 

Stanley Tucci will make his London stage directing debut with the world premier of Tony Award-winning playwright Richard Nelson’s new play Springwood. The play will run at Hampstead Theatre’s Mainstage from June 19 to July 25, 2026. 

Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett will star in Beaches, A New Musical at the Majestic Theatre for a limited New York engagement to launch its multi-city National Tour. Previews begin March 27, with official opening set for April 22. The musical will run through Sept. 6.

Looks like we are going to need a bigger boat! Today, it was announced that Titanique will head to Broadway this spring for a 16-week limited engagement at the St. James Theatre beginning March 26, 2026. An official opening night is set for Sunday, April 12, 2026. Co-creator Marla Mindelle will reprise her iconic portrayal as Céline Dion, a role she originated Off-Broadway in a run that lasted over three-years. 

This vampire is back and she is here to Slay. Today, it was announced that the new original musical Blood/Love will make its way Off-Broadway this Spring at Theater 555 beginning Friday, February 13, 2026. Directed by Hunter Bird, this new musical will officially open Tuesday, March 3, 2026 for a limited run through Sunday, March 29, 2026. Written by Carey Sharpe and Grammy nominee Dru DeCaro, the piece will star Sharpe as Valerie Bloodlove. She’s the world’s first vampire. For a thousand years, she ruled the night. Now, she’s thirsty for more.

Just in time for the holiday season, we are getting what we need most: Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett, well, kinda… Today, it was announced by newly minted 30 Under 30 and Theatrely31 alum George Strus that a new developmental production of A Kidman Carol: A Gay Dementia On Australian Dames will hit New York this December. Starring Marla Mindelle and Josh Sharp, this new production by Kevin Zak will run Off Broadway at Theater 511 for 5 performances only from December 17-21, 2025. 

Bye bye Mamma Mia, hello Willy Loman! This morning it was announced that Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf will lead Arthur Miller’s Death Of A Salesman on Broadway this spring at the Winter Garden Theatre. Directed by Joe Mantello, the production will also star Christopher Abbott and Ben Ahlers for its limited 14-week run. Previews are set to begin Friday, March 6, 2026 with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 9, 2026. 

The name on everybody’s lips is gonna be… Whitney! Fresh off her run on Dancing With The Stars and her bingeworthy presence on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, today it was announced that Whitney Leavitt will make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago beginning Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Ambassador Theatre. She is set to play a 6-week engagement through Sunday, March 15, 2026. 

Today on his podcast “Smartless,” it was announced that Tony and Emmy-winner Sean Hayes will return to the New York stage in The Unknown. This new one-man play by David Cale, will be directed by Leigh Silverman. Performances will begin at Studio Seaview on Saturday, January 31, 2026 with an official opening on Thursday, February 12, 2026 for a 10-week engagement. A gripping new play about a writer on the edge. Desperate to cure his writer’s block, Elliott retreats to a remote cabin—only to discover he may not be alone. As the boundaries between his work and his life collapse, Elliott begins to question everything he knows. Is he writing a thriller? Living one? Both? This new play is a provocative thriller that explores the fine line between fascination and obsession. 

Looks like North America is about to get a little versatility. Today, it was announced that BOOP! The Musical will launch a 50-week tour in Rochester, NY at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre in Fall 2026. Additional tour cities, dates, and casting for the North American Tour will be announced soon. The tour of BOOP! is produced by NETworks Presentations and booking is by The Booking Group.Tony-winning director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell brings the Queen of the Screen to the theater in BOOP!, with celebrated multiple Grammy -winning composer David Foster, Tony-nominated lyricist Susan Birkenhead and Tony-winning book writer Bob Martin. 

Alive Forever can only last so long! Today, Universal Theatrical Group announced that Tony Award nominee Betsy Wolfe will join the company of Death Becomes Her as Madeline Ashton beginning January 16, 2026. Wolfe was previously seen this summer in Joy The Musical, and last on Broadway in & Juliet. Megan Hilty, who earned a Tony nomination for originating the role of Madeline Ashton, will depart the production on January 4, 2026. Tickets are currently on sale through June 7, 2026 and a North American tour will hit the road beginning Fall 2026, laughing at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, OH.
