As part of NY PopsUp, the very first performance inside a Broadway theater occurred this past Saturday at the St. James Theatre. In front of a socially-distanced audience made up primarily of front line workers, Tony Award Winner Savion Glover and three-time-Tony Award Winner Nathan Lane took the stage for the first time since March of 2020.

Lane performed Playbills, a new monologue from playwright Paul Rudnick while Glover created a special tap piece that reminded everyone why Broadway is such a special place. NY PopsUp and the St. James Theatre worked closely with the New York State Department of Health to ensure all state health and safety protocols were being followed.
