In A24's most recent podcast episode, Academy Award Nominees Celine Song and Sofia Coppola got to chatting about directing, finding inspiration, creating engaging inner worlds, and theater—more specifically, the new play that will be coming to Broadway this season, Stereophonic.

While talking, Coppola informed Song that she should definitely check out the show, saying, "I saw it at Playwrights Horizons. It just closed, but it's coming to Broadway in March." She continued, "They use what's happening in the room, and then behind the glass. It's based on Fleetwood Mac making 'Rumors.' But the way the sound is... I thought it was really cool...and their voices are incredible. It sounds really corny because it's fake versions of '70s Fleetwood Mac style music. It sounds like it'd be awful, but the music's really good. I thought it was really impressive." By the end of the conversation, it sounded like Song was convinced to go and see the show as well.

You might remember that both Patti LuPone and Nathan Lane were also both featured on A24’s podcast last year.

Stereophonic was featured in Theatrely’s Best of 2023 for its Off-Broadway run at Playwrights Horizons. For more information about the Broadway production, click here.
