“Barack-a-lacka-Obama” is making his way to New York! 44 — The Musical will come to the Daryl Roth Theatre Off-Broadway after sold-out runs in Los Angeles and Chicago. It will run for a limited eight-week engagement beginning on Oct. 14, with official opening set for Nov. 6.
Tickets for the run go on sale on Aug. 4 at 10 a.m. In honor of President Obama’s 64th Birthday on that date, a limited number of $44 tickets will be put on sale, including the front two rows for the first two weeks of performances and limited $44 seats available for all performances in select locations.
44 — The Musical is a satirical look at the rise and presidency of Barack Obama, and the eccentric band of political characters he met along the way. It is written, composed, and directed by Eli Bauman, a former Obama campaign staffer. The music director is Anthony “Brew” Brewster with choreography by Miss James Alsop.
Casting for the Off-Broadway production will be announced shortly.
