Derek McLane wins Best Scenic Design of a Play at the 74th Annual Tony Awards for his work on Moulin Rouge! The Musical. This is his sixth nomination and second win. He has previously won for his work on 33 Variations. He has been nominated for his work on The Pajama Game, Ragtime, and Anything Goes.

McLane beat out fellow nominees Riccardo Hernández & Lucy MacKinnon (Jagged Little Pill) and Mark Thompson & Jeff Sugg (Tina).

McLane has won two Emmy Awards for his work on Hairspray Live! and the 86th Academy Awards

Previous Broadway credits include: Burn This, American Son, Gettin’ The Band Back Together, Children of a Lesser God, and The Parisian Woman.
