Exclusive First Listen to Claybourne Elder Singing "How Glory Goes" On New Solo Album
This album is sure to be a star! Claybourne Elder is releasing his debut album with Center Stage Records, titled If the Stars Were Mine, on Friday April 3. The album features Elder’s favorite Broadway numbers from Sunday in the Park with George and Floyd Collins to Into the Woods and If/Then, in addition to songs made famous by Whitney Houston, Eartha Kitt, and Melody Gardot.
Elder is best known for his role on screen in The Gilded Age and on stage in the most recent Broadway revival of Company. His album weaves themes of sex, fatherhood, and religion. He will celebrate the album’s release with three concerts at 54 Below on April 3, 4, and 15.
Theatrely has an exclusive first listen to Elder singing “How Glory Goes” from Floyd Collins written by Adam Guettel.
If the Stars Were Mine features music direction, arrangements, and orchestrations by Bryan Perri and Rodney Bush. It is produced by Elder and Andrew House, and co-produced by Bryan Perri.
The album will be available on streaming and digital formats on April 3, CD on April 10, and vinyl later this year.
