Tom Stoppard’s Olivier-winning play Leopoldstadt is officially coming to Broadway. A newly launched website confirmed Patrick Marber will direct the production but remaining details are scarce with dates, a theatre, and casting to be announced.

Leopoldstadt premiered in London at Wyndham’s Theatre in early 2020. Set over several decades in Vienna, Austria, following the lives of a singular extended family, the play explores the human condition and its resilience in the face of traumatic history before and after World War II.

Plans for a 2022 run in Toronto were scrapped late last year due to COVID-19.
