Raúl Esparza To Lead The World Premiere Production of GALILEO Musical at Berkeley Rep

Galileo, Galileo Figaro, magnifico! Raúl Esparza will be making his way back to the stage in the world premiere of the new musical Galileo. Esparza will be playing the title role of Galileo.

The production will be running from May 5th -June 16th at Californias Berkeley Repertory Theatre. An opening night is scheduled for May 15th.

When maverick scientist Galileo Galilei makes celestial observations that challenge humanity’s understanding of its place in the universe, he’s summoned to Rome to defend his discoveries before the most powerful religious institution in the world, which is facing a rebellion of its own.

Galileo will have a book by Emmy winner Danny Strong, a score by Michael Weiner and Zoe Sarnak, choreography by David Neumann, and direction by Tony winner Michael Mayer.

The creative team for Galileo includes Brian Usifer (music supervisor and orchestrations), Roberto Sinha (music director), Rachel Hauck (scenic design), Anita Yavich (costume design), Kevin Adams (lighting design), John Shivers (sound design), and Jason Thompson and Kaitlyn Pietras (projections).
