They’re the Tip Tap Top! J. Harrison Ghee has won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for their outstanding performance as Jerry/Daphne in Some Like It Hot. Ghee was crowned at the 2023 Tony Awards on the stage of the United Palace. Ghee beat out fellow nominees Christian Borle also from Some Like It Hot, Josh Groban for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Brian d’Arcy James for Into the Woods, Ben Platt for Parade, and Colton Ryan for New York, New York.
J. Harrison Ghee made their Broadway debut in Kinky Boots, and later appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire. This is their first Tony Award nomination and win! Select film and television credits include High Maintenance, Raising Dion, and Accused.
