TikTok, Hadestown, and people with talent, these are a few of Preston Mui’s favorite things! For the latest edition of Theatrely’s Stage Door Speed Round, we spoke with the Hamilton scene-stealer, who revealed some excellent advice after coming back to the show after an injury break.

The social media favorite currently plays George Eacker and is in the ensemble of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Pulitzer and Tony–winning musical. The show has been playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre since it opened in 2016. Check out his Stage Door Speed Round below.

Aside from his Broadway stage credits, Mui has danced in countless live performances, including the Super Bowl Halftime Show with Janet Jackson and twice at the MTV Music Video Awards, once with Christina Aguilera and another time with Britney Spears. He has also acted in TV shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Mindy Project, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and 2 Broke Girls.

Just as busy behind the scenes as on stage, he choreographed the East West Players’ stage productions of Mamma Mia and Assassins. He is also a founding choreographer for The Masked Singer and helped to create a training system for celebrity performers.

Hamilton currently stars Miguel Cervantes in the title role, with Stephanie Jae Park as Eliza Hamilton, Jennie Harney-Fleming as Angelica Schuyler, Tamar Greene as George Washington, Nik Walker as Aaron Burr, Kyle Scatcliffe as Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, Euan Morton as King George III, Fergie L. Philippe as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Aubin Wise as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, and Daniel Yearwood as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

The show features a score and book by Miranda, who won a Tony Award in both categories. Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. The production also features costumes by Paul Tazewell, sets by David Korins, lighting by Howell Binkley, and sound by Nevin Steinberg.
