It’s almost for the brightest star to arrive on Broadway. Beanie Feldstein, Ramin Karimloo, Jane Lynch, Jared Grimes, and more are hard at work in rehearsals for the upcoming Broadway revival of Funny Girl. Check out the footage below.

“[It’s] so magical. It’s the story of a comedian falling in love and finding herself,” says Feldstein, last seen on Broadway in Hello, Dolly!. “This is a character, a score, and a story that I’ve loved literally as young as I can remember.”

Funny Girl begins previews March 26 ahead of an April 24 opening night. The musical features a revised book by Harvey Feirstein, based on the book by Isobel Lennart, to complement the score by composer Jule Styne and lyricist Bob Merrill.

Directed by Michael Mayer, the production features choreography by Ellenore Scott, tap choreography by Ayodele Casel, costume design by Susan Hilferty (157 costumes will be worn throughout the show), and scenic design by David Zinn. Sonia Friedman, Scott Landis, and David Babani produce.

“What we’re doing with tap dancing hasn’t been done in a while,” says Casel. “We’re going to go deeper than just a flap-ball-change, flap-ball-change.” As for “Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat,” Scott says, “Y’all ain’t ready for that number.”
