Do you happen to look like our favorite resident of Munchinkinland and have nothing going on this weekend? Well you just might be in luck. Popular TikToker Molly Brown (@TSwiftFan420) will be hosting a Boq look-alike competition this Saturday, December 7th, at noon in Washington Square Park here in the heart of Manhattan.

If you aren’t chronically online like the staff here at Theatrely, let me fill you in. As the Wicked movie continue to dominate the box office, social media, and our minds, Molly has been getting quite a bit of attention for creating BoqTok, as she calls it. Over the course of several viral videos on TikTok, the comedian who has amassed more than 160,000 followers has lovingly been hating on Boq, portrayed in the film by Ethan Slater.

When asked for a comment earlier this week, Brown responded with, “I wanted to start this Boq lookalike competition to really shed light on this character that I hate.  But really, there is love. I LOVE to hate Boq. And because I know him, I have been changed for good.

“And to Ethan Slater I would like to say just this. And just to clear the air, I ask forgiveness for the things I’ve done you blame me for. But then I guess there’s blame to share.”

Clearly all in jest, she has amassed hundreds of thousands of views in the past week or so and is now directing her love to have folks show up this weekend. Celebrity look-alike competitions have been popping up all over the world within the last month after the Timothée Chalamet look-alike competition received global press. Since then, there have been competitions scouring for dupes of Jeremy Allen White to Paul Mescal to Harry Styles.

Only time will tell to see who is the ultimate look-alike to our beloved Boq.
