EUREKA DAY Wins 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play
Eureka Day by Jonathan Spector has won the 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. It beat out fellow nominees Romeo + Juliet, Thornton Wilder's Our Town, and Yellow Face by David Henry Hwang.
Eureka Day centers on a mumps outbreak at a progressive private elementary school, which forces the board to reconsider their lax vaccination policy. The sharp satire pokes fun at the board, who must come to the realization that they must do the unthinkable: make a choice that doesn’t make everyone happy. The play ran at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre as part of Manhattan Theatre Club’s 2024-2025 season from Dec. 16, 2024 to Feb. 16, 2025.
It was nominated for two Tony Awards Sunday night: Best Revival of a Play and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for Jessica Hecht.
