You gotta catch a potential audience’s attention in any way possible these days. From massive social campaigns to wild in-person activations, folks are trying everything. But one performance is trying a different route. Not telling you anything about it!

For the past few weeks, some mysterious Instagram account has popped up with the username @_____comingsoon______ and has been posting mysterious photos including balloons and an upside down wheelbarrow. The account follows only two individuals: actor and playwright Bubba Weiler and Theatrely31 alum Jack Serio.

Serio recently helmed Ken Urban’s intimate Danger and Opportunity at the East Village Basement which won two special Drama Desk Awards in the past few weeks.

The Instagram leads you to a LetYouGoNYC.com where it goes on to explain, “This summer, an extrodinary new play is coming to Irondale in Brooklyn featuring 8 of the very best actors in New York. We’ll announce all the details next week, but before we do… you can secure your ticket before anyone else.”

The production appears to be produced by Jacob Stuckelman, Andrew Patino, Kyle Rogers, and Matt Krauss of Regular People who are making a name for themselves with Off-Broadway productions popping up around the city.

It’s a fascinating tactic when so much of theatrical marketing these days can be spoon-feeding audiences information every step of the way, this team has decided to throw it all out the window. Will it work, time will tell, but for now if you have trust, it may just pay off in the end!
