Kelli O'Hara Joins Tom Hanks In THIS WORLD OF TOMORROW At The Shed
Kelli O’Hara fans, rejoice! The Tony Award winner will join Tom Hanks’ This World of Tomorrow at the Shed this fall. Previews begin Oct. 30 with an official opening on Nov. 18. The show will play a strictly limited engagement through Dec. 21 at The Shed’s Griffin Theater.
Also joining the cast are: Kerry Bishé, Kayli Carter, Paul Murphy, Jamie Ann Romero, Lee Aaron Rosen, Jay O. Sanders, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Donald Webber Jr., and Michelle Wilson.
This World of Tomorrow tells the story of Bert Allenberry, a forlorn scientist from the future who embarks on a time-traveling quest for true love, returning again, and again, and again to one special day at the 1939 World’s Fair in Queens, New York. It is based on Hanks’ series of short stories, and is co-written by Hanks and James Glossman.
O’Hara is best known for her Tony Award-winning role in The King and I. She made history as the first to crossover from Broadway to Opera with her Metropolitan Opera debut in 2015. Recently, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance of the new musical Days of Wine and Roses. She will return to Broadway in the spring in the play Fallen Angels. She can also currently be seen on HBO’s The Gilded Age.
This World of Tomorrow runs at The Shed's Griffin Theatre from Oct. 30 to Dec. 21. For tickets and more information, visit here.
