KIMBERLY AKIMBO'S Victoria Clark Wins Tony for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical
“This Time” Victoria Clark is a Tony Award winner! Clark has won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her outstanding performance as Kimberly Levaco in Kimberly Akimbo. She was crowned at the 2023 Tony Awards onstage at the United Palace. Clark beat out fellow nominees Annaleigh Ashford for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Sara Bareilles for Into the Woods, Lorna Courtney for & Juliet, and Micaela Diamond for Parade.
Clark made her Broadway debut in Sunday in the Park with George, and later appeared in Guys and Dolls, Titanic, Urinetown, The Light in the Piazza, Sister Act, Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Gigi, and so many more. She’s also appeared on screen many times, including Archaeology of a Woman, Homeland, The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair, and Pose. Clark has previously been nominated for four Tony Awards, and won in 2005 for her performance in The Light in the Piazza.
Kimberly is about to turn 16 and recently moved with her family to a new town in suburban New Jersey. In this hilarious yet heartbreaking show, Kim is forced to navigate family dysfunction, a rare genetic condition, her first crush…and possible felony charges.
