Sonya Tayeh has won Best Choreography at the 74th Annual Tony Awards for her choreography for Moulin Rouge! The Musical. This is her first nomination and win.

Tayeh beat out fellow nominees Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Jagged Little Pill) and Anthony Van Laast (Tina).

Tayeh is best known for her work on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, including two Emmy nominations for her work on the show. She choreographed for seasons 4-11.

Tayeh made her Broadway debut with Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
