THE 2 QUEERS A LESBIAN MEETS AT THE HOME DEPOT Announces Off-Broadway Run
I guess home doers truly get more done. Today it was announced that Savannah Hankinson’s The 2 Queers a Lesbian Meets at The Home Depot will make its New York premiere at the Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theatres from September 20, 2024 through October 6, 2024.
Neavh, a non-binary person who has diligently run the customer service desk at the local Home Depot for five years, is used to the slow pace and peculiarities of small-town life. But things start to shake up when Chesa, a laid-back and under-skilled new hire, joins the team. Despite their differences, the two forge a deep emotional connection as they navigate queerness in a town that seems frozen. Their blossoming friendship faces an unexpected challenge with the arrival of Laurie, a confident lesbian renovating a house with her not-so-kind girlfriend. As their worlds collide, these three queers are forced to confront their struggles and shake up their not-so-happy daily routines.
Directed by Daniel Irving Rattner, the company includes Devante Owens, Zoë Laiz, and Savannah Hankinson.
The creative team includes Wesley Cornwell (scenic designer), Hayley Garcia Parnell (lighting designer), Evdoxia Ragkou (sound designer), Rebecca Satzberg (sound engineer), Joe Krempetz (assistant sound designer), Ryan Lewis (board operator), Alison Novelli (intimacy director), Jesse Cameron Alick (dramaturg), Jodi Bentivegna (visual artist - poster), Zachary Hausman (marketing director), Jen O’Grady (social media manager), and A-M Alvarez (stage manager).
