The Cape Playhouse Announces 99th Season
Summer’s just around the corner, and the Cape Playhouse has announced its 2026 season. The season will include Nat Zegree’s Mozart to Pop Chart, Into the Woods, Hairspray, Mean Girls, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
The playhouse is one year shy of its centennial anniversary, and this season marks its largest.
“This summer, we can’t wait to greet over 50,000 audience members with a season of joy and celebration in the way that only great musical theater can create,” artistic director Eric Rosen said in a statement.
Nat Zegree’s Mozart to Pop Chart kicks off the season from June 3 to 20. Then, Rosen will direct the Cape Playhouse’s first production of Stephen Sondheim’s classic Into the Woods from June 24 to July 11. Meredith McDonough will direct Hairspray from July 15 to Aug. 8, and Al Blackstone will direct Mean Girls from Aug. 12 to 29. The season will conclude with Claybourne Elder directing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee from Sept. 2 to 19.
The Cape Playhouse is located in Dennis, Mass. For tickets and more information, visit here.
