It’s gonna be a riot! Principal casting for The Cottage on Broadway is now complete, with Beetlejuice breakout Dana Steingold, SNL alum Alex Moffat, and The Phantom of the Opera scene stealer Nehal Joshi joining the previously announced Eric McCormack, Laura Bell Bundy, and Lilli Cooper.

Sandy Rustin’s farcical rom-com, directed by Seinfeld legend and Tony winner Jason Alexander, begins previews July 7 at the Helen Hayes Theater ahead of a July 24 opening. (The limited engagement is not a Second Stage Theater production.)

The production will feature with scenic design by Paul Tate dePoo III, costume design by Sydney Maresca, lighting design by Jiyoun “Jiji” Chang, sound design by Justin Ellington, and casting by Laura Stanczyk.

The Cottage takes aim at the comedies of Neil Simon, Oscar Wilde, and other British playwrights. Set in the English countryside in 1923, it follows Sylvia Van Kipness as she decides to expose her love affair to her husband and her lover's wife. What follows is a twisty unraveling of secrets between two couples.

Regional stagings have been seen at Theatre Aspen, The Engeman, The Barter Theatre, Queen's Theatre in the Park, and more. It was also recently workshopped by Manhattan Theatre Club.

The Cottage is produced by Victoria Lang, Ryan Bogner, Tracey McFarland of Broadway & Beyond Theatricals; Carl White and  Gregory Rae of Martian Entertainment; and Eric Cornell and Jack Sennott of Cornice Productions. Broadway & Beyond Theatricals will executive produce and Martian Entertainment serves as general manager.

Additional casting and a creative team memebers will be announced soon. For more information, click here.
