Listen to ‘Ride Out the Storm’ From SOME LIKE IT HOT Ahead of OBCR Release
It’s time for an 11 o’clock number to bring the house down. Ahead of the Some Like It Hot Original Broadway Cast Recording coming out March 24 from Concord Theatrical Recordings, Theatrely is debuting an exclusive track.
“Ride Out the Storm” is sung by Sugar, the lovable chanteuse played by Adrianna Hicks. The Broadway alum said, “What I love about singing this song is that I get to, unapologetically, stand and sing my heart out! I love riding the emotional waves and brilliant modulations throughout the piece, and the thrill that it brings my soul every night.”

In addition to Hicks as Sugar, Some Like It Hot stars J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry/Daphne, Christian Borle as Joe, Kevin Del Aguila as Osgood, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Sweet Sue, Adam Heller as Mulligan, Mark Lotito as Spats, and Angie Schworer as Minnie.
Based on the MGM Oscar-winning eponymous film, Some Like It Hot features a book by Matthew López and Amber Ruffin. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman wrote the score, with direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.
The Some Like It Hot ensemble also includes Tia Altinay, TyNia René Brandon, Ian Campayno, DeMarius Copes, Casey Garvin, Devon Hadsell, Ashley Elizabeth Hale, Jenny Hill, K.J. Hippensteel, Abby Matsusaka, Jarvis B. Manning Jr., Brian Thomas Martin, Amber Owens, Kayla Pecchioni, Richard Riaz Yoder, Charles South, Brendon Stimson, Raena White, and Julius Williams.
The production features sets by Scott Pask, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Natasha Katz, sound by Brian Ronan, hair and wigs by Josh Marquette, make-up by Milagros Medina-Cerdiera, hair and skin consulting by Cheryl Thomas, casting by Telsey & Co, and additional material by Christian Borle and Joe Farrell.
On the music team, orchestrations are by Charlie Rosen and Bryan Carter, with dance and incidental music arrangements by Glen Kelly. Mary-Mitchell Campbell is music supervisor, Darryl Archibald is music director, and Kristy Norter is music coordinator.
