It’s time to close the coffin on Elmer McCurdy’s Broadway journey. Dead Outlaw will play its final performance at the Longacre Theatre on Sunday, June 29. At the time of closing, the new musical will have played 14 previews and 73 regular performances. With music and lyrics by David Yazbek and Erik Della Penna, a book by Itamar Moses, the show was directed by David Cromer.

Tony and Grammy Award winner and Academy and Emmy Award nominee Leslie Odom, Jr. will star in a new Broadway production of the classic American comedy Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by Ossie Davis. Purlie Victorious will be staged by Tony-winner Kenny Leon who directed both Ohio State Murders and Topdog/Underdog earlier this season. This production which is currently scheduled to begin in late summer 2023 will mark Odom’s return to Broadway after winning the Tony for his legendary performance as “Aaron Burr” in Hamilton.
