Today, producers announced that Cats: The Jellicle Ball will end its Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Previews began on March 18, 2026 before an opening night on April 7. The show went on to win three Tony Awards last month including Best Direction of a Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Costume Design of a musical. The production will be filmed for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

For anyone who watched Owning Manhattan Season Two on Netflix, this announcement feels very special. Real Estate agent Chloe Tucker Caine (who I profiled last year) will make her Broadway debut in Six as Anne Boleyn beginning August 17 2026. Stephanie Jae Park who starred as Eliza in Hamilton will join the company as Catherine Parr. They both join the company through February 14, 2027 at the Lena Horne Theatre.

Today, it was announced that Dolly: A True Original Musical, a remarkable journey through the life of this trailblazing woman, will come to Broadway this winter with tickets going on pre-sale starting tomorrow, July 8 at 10am ET at dollymusical.com Previews are set to begin Monday, December 7 at the St. James Theatre on West 44th Street before an official opening night which will take place on Dolly’s 81st Birthday on Tuesday, January 19, 2027. Casting and other details will be announced at a later date. Dolly: A True Original Musical features music by Parton that includes some of her iconic hits as well as new songs she has written especially for the musical, a book by Parton and two-time Emmy Award winner Maria S. Schlatter, and is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher.

Twelve Years. Three Hotel Rooms. One Goal. It was announced today that John Donnelly’s The Pass will have its US Premiere in a new production directed by Max Hunter. The play will begin performances on Thursday, July 30 at La Mama, with an opening night scheduled for Monday, August 3. The show will play a limited five-week run. The play premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2014. A hotel room in Eastern Europe, 2014. On the eve of their first Champions League match, two rising British football stars find themselves facing something neither preseason training nor media coaching could prepare them for.

You gotta catch a potential audience’s attention in any way possible these days. From massive social campaigns to wild in-person activations, folks are trying everything. But one performance is trying a different route. Not telling you anything about it! For the past few weeks, some mysterious Instagram account has popped up with the username @_____comingsoon______ and has been posting mysterious photos including balloons and an upside down wheelbarrow. The account follows only two individuals: actor and playwright Bubba Weiler and Theatrely31 alum Jack Serio. Serio recently helmed Ken Urban’s intimate Danger and Opportunity at the East Village Basement which won two special Drama Desk Awards in the past few weeks.
