The spring gala season lineup is filling with rising stars. Day 365! star Dylan Mulvaney, Camelot player Jordan Donica, and West Side Story Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler will take part in Miscast23 when the annual concert is held April 3 at Hammerstein Ballroom. Also joining the lineup are Jordan E. Cooper (Ain’t No Mo’), Jose Llana (Here Lies Love), and NaTasha Yvette Williams (Some Like It Hot).

As previously announced, the evening will honor Emmy, Grammy, and Tony nominee Vanessa Williams and MCC Youth Company alumna Lianny Toval. Miscast is one of the most anticipated annual galas, featuring stars of stage and screen taking the stage to perform songs from roles in which they would not traditionally be cast.

Already on the roster for this year’s edition of Miscast are Sweeney Todd leading players Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford, Parade star Ben Platt, Tony winner LaChanze, Kimberly Akimbo scene-stealer Bonnie Milligan, & Juliet break out Lorna Courtney, and Stephen Sondheim interpreter Eleri Ward. Will Van Dyke will serve as musical director.

In addition to the live performance, MCC is partnering with The League of Live Stream Theater to broadcast Miscast23 on April 10 at 7 PM ET. Following the premiere, the broadcast will be available to view on-demand until April 16.

The Off-Broadway company has also announced #MCCMISCASTME, a TikTok and Instagram challenge where theatre fans are encouraged to perform a 30-second snippet of their favorite song from a role in which they would not traditionally be cast, for a chance to be featured on MCC social media accounts following the virtual streaming week. The campaign is open to all ages and participants can live anywhere in the world. Participants must tag @mcctheater and use both #MCCMISCASTME and #MISCAST23. Submissions are open from March 21–April 2. For full submission instructions, eligibility requirements, and Official Rules, visit MCC.Theater/MiscastMe.
