Today, it was announced more Broadway favorites will be joining the all star company of Ragtime at New York City Center this fall, directed by Encores! Artistic Director Lear deBessonet. Joining the previously announced Joshua Henry, Brandon Uranowitz, and Caissie Levy, Colin Donnell will play Father, Ben Levi Ross as Younger Brother, Shaina Taub as Emma Goldman, and Joy Woods as Sarah. 

The hilarious Hannah Gadsby is set to return to New York City this fall with their latest stand-up show, Woof!, directed by Jenney Shamash. After sold-out engagements in Australia and across the US, Woof! will play a limited four-week engagement at the Abrons Art Center on the Lower East Side starting Friday, September 27 before an official opening night on Sunday, October 6, 2024. 

Producers have announced that Mandy Gonzalez will star as Normal Desmond at select performances of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Sunset Blvd when Jamie Lloyd’s new revival opens on Broadway this fall. 

The Board of Directors of one of the most exciting theatrical spaces downtown announced the appointment of Jesse Cameron Alick, Annalisa Dias, Lanxing Fu, and Lauren Miller as co-directors of HERE, the Obie award-winning institution.

Multimedia theatre collective The Fricks have announced that they will present Tomorrow People at the recently opened East Village Basement next month. 

A slew of Broadway favorites will join Sutton Foster and Michael Urie in Once Upon A Mattress when the musical revival heads to the Hudson Theatre beginning Wednesday July 31, 2024. Foster as Winnifred and Urie as Prince Dauntless will be joined by Brooks Ashmanskas as The Wizard, Daniel Breaker as The Jester, Will Chase as Sir Harry, Nikki Renée Daniels returns as Lady Larken, David Patrick Kelly returns as King Sextimus, and Ana Gasteyer as Queen Aggravain.

Producers announced that two time Tony winner Christian Borle will now play Jim Bakker in the new Broadway production of Tammy Faye that will being previews on October 19, before a November 14 opening night at the newly refurbished Palace Theatre. Borle takes over for the previously announced Andrew Rannells who made news on the Tony Awards red carpet earlier this month when he announced he would no longer be involved with the production due to contract negotiations. 

Second Stage Theater has announced their lineup of fall programming including the New York Premiere of Cult of Love on Broadway at the Hayes Theater and Lunar Eclipse at Off-Broadway’s Tony Kiser Theater. 

The Outsiders has won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Musical. The Outsiders beat out fellow nominees Hell’s Kitchen, Illinoise, Suffs, and Water for Elephants. 

Groff beat out fellow nominees Dorian Harewood for The Notebook, Brian d'Arcy James for Days of Wine and Roses, Eddie Redmayne for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, and Brody Grant for The Outsiders.

Moon was honored at the 2024 Tony Awards at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater. She beat out fellow nominees Kelli O'Hara for Days of Wine and Roses, Maryann Plunkett for The Notebook, Gayle Rankin for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, and Eden Espinosa for Lempicka.

Paulson beat out fellow nominees Amy Ryan For Doubt: A Parable, Betsy Aidem For Prayer for the French Republic, Jessica Lange for Mother Play, and Rachel McAdams For Mary Jane.

Merrily We Roll Along has won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. Merrily beat out fellow nominees Cabaret, Tommy, and Gutenberg. It stars Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, and Lindsay Mendez.

Playwright David Adjmi’s incredible new play beat out fellow nominees Prayer for the French Republic, Mother Play, Mary Jane, and Jaja's African Hair Braiding.

The absolutely brilliant play written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins beat out fellow nominees Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch and An Enemy of the People.

Taub beat out fellow nominees Adam Guettel for Days of Wine and Roses, David Byrne & Fatboy Slim for Here Lies Love, Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance) and Justin Levine for The Outsiders, and Will Butler for Stereophonic.

Lewis beat out fellow nominees Lindsay Mendez for Merrily We Roll Along, Bebe Neuwirth for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Shoshana Bean for Hell's Kitchen, Amber Iman for Lempicka, Nikki M. James for Suffs, and Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer for Monty Python's Spamalot.

Radcliffe beat out fellow nominees Steven Skybell for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, Roger Bart for Back to the Future: The Musical, Joshua Boone for The Outsiders, and Brandon Victor Dixon For Hell's Kitchen, and Sky Lakota-Lynch for The Outsiders.

The winners of the 77th Annual Tony Awards will be announced live tonight at Lincoln Center in a ceremony hosted by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose.

This morning it was announced that Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren will return to the stage to star in the first ever Broadway production of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years in Spring of 2025. This brand-new production will be directed by Tony-nominee Whitney White. 

Redwood, a new, original musical starring Tony Award-winner and multi-hyphenate performer Idina Menzel, will premiere on Broadway next year.
