After months of waiting with bated breath, the Tony Awards Administration Committee met yesterday to confirm the eligibility status of twenty Broadway productions for the 2022-2023 season. This was the first time this season that the Tony Awards Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 76th Annual Tony Awards. 

Tony and Grammy Award winner and Academy and Emmy Award nominee Leslie Odom, Jr. will star in a new Broadway production of the classic American comedy Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch by Ossie Davis. Purlie Victorious will be staged by Tony-winner Kenny Leon who directed both Ohio State Murders and Topdog/Underdog earlier this season. This production which is currently scheduled to begin in late summer 2023 will mark Odom’s return to Broadway after winning the Tony for his legendary performance as “Aaron Burr” in Hamilton.

The One Night Only event will take place this March with all proceeds supporting the Entertainment Community Fund.

It’s time to pack your bags for Neverland! An all-new production of the Tony-winning classic Peter Pan will premiere at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in Saint Paul, MN this December before launching a national tour in February 2024 at the Hippodrome in Baltimore, MD.
